Falls Prevention: Postural stability

The Falls Prevention Programme has been running for over a year with great success. If you think this free 16 week course will be of benefit, then this class might be for you. It helps to strengthen muscles, improve posture, mobility and prevent further falls.

An assessment will need to be carried out by a qualified person to determine your suitability for this class.

Pilates

Pilates course for Fifty Plus.

Pilates is a gentle exercise that will help improve your flexibility and joint mobility as well as posture, breathing and confidence. It is predominantly floor based, lying or seated, with some kneeling exercises for those able to do so. Suitable for beginners.

Requirements:

¨         Yoga mat

¨         Loose, comfortable clothes

Sessions:

¨            Mondays at Maxwell Hall, Borehamwood - 11.15am to 12.15pm

¨            Wednesdays at King Charles the Martyr, Potters Bar - 10.15am to 11.15am

Tai Chi

New Fifty Plus course at Potters Bar

 

Tai Chi combines both peace and strength and is designed to combat stress improving health. The gentle peaceful movements are beneficial for internal organs. The class will be run accommodating the individual needs of each participant. Wear loose comfortable clothing.

These courses are suitable for all abilities.

Venue: Fairway Hall, Borehamwood, Thursdays, 3pm to 4pm

Yoga

Yoga course for Fifty Plus.

Hatha Yoga is the balancing of mind, body and breath - it brings about a peaceful mind, strong and supple body and awareness of breath. Designed to release tension, stress and anxiety, it leaves you feeling completely tranquil and revitalised.

Requirements: Yoga Mat

Sessions: Wednesdays at Kenilworth School, Borehamwood - 7.30pm to 9.00pm
