Swimming at Sir James Altham
Swimming isn't only a great form of general exercise, it can also be soothing, relaxing and best of all great fun!
Swimming is an excellent way to tone up and trim down. Just swimming a few lengths can involve most of the major muscle groups, giving your body a great work out.
The other big advantage of swimming is that water supports your weight and takes the stress off your joints, so you can put your body through a good work out without your knees, hips or spine paying the price.
Whether you are looking for wet and wild splash sessions, a venue for a kids pool party, a relaxing swim or an invigorating work out – we have the pools for you!
Please note that public swim on Saturdays now finishes at 13.15 instead of 13.30pm. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

At Sir James Altham we provide facilities for those with a disability, including access to the changing village, changing cubicles with shower facilities, and a pool pod to support access into the water. Please ask a member of the team should have any further requirements.
Track your child's progress in Swim School using Home Portal
Register NOW for our Home Portal Swim School system which allows you to track your child's progress and, if you pay by block, this will inform you of how many credits you have left before you need to re-book. The Home Portal allows you to see when your child is ready to move on to the next stage and move them into an available class of your preference. Please click here to register.
